J. Rieger & Co, or “Rieger’s”, is a distillery located in the East Bottoms of Kansas City, MO. This is a collection of my work done while as their in-house designer.
I had a vast assortment of projects & duties to help with the visual communication of the distillery. From physical signage and menus inside the establishment, to digital assets and captivating graphics to promote the brand on social media, there was plenty of work to design within the Rieger brand.
Rieger’s Bottled in Bond Straight Rye Whiskey
Having a spirit be “Bottled in Bond” is a big deal, so Rieger wanted to create a promotional video showcasing that.
The challenge was distilling (ha) copy down to fit with the dramatic & intense mood of the subject matter. Framing certain shots to allow space for type was also needed. Most shots were dark, so successful contrast between the type and scene was important.

Rieger’s Premium Wheat Vodka
Promotional video highlighting Rieger’s Premium Wheat Vodka, and its score of 91 points by Wine Enthusiast.
Given the average vodka drinker demographic, this project called for a more light-hearted vibe. Colorful shots with plenty of movement, paired with loud and interactive type.

Rieger’s Midwestern Dry Gin
Promotional video showcasing Rieger’s Midwestern Dry Gin and its score of 95 points by Wine Enthusiast.
Much like the previous vodka video, we wanted something fun and playful. Often times these clear spirits are used in more whimsical cocktails, so it’s important to reflect that.
The primary focus was on the 5 botanicals used in creating the gin. A dynamic framing mechanism was used throughout the video to highlight and transition to each one.
